For the 2010 NME Awards, The Arctic Monkeys led the way with Muse, both totaling six nominations each. Five of the six categories find the bands competing against each other.

Their nominations include Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Track, Best Video, Giving It Back Award, and Worst Album. Although the band was nominated for Worst Album, for their latest effort, “Humbug,” they were grateful for the recognition. After all the votes were tallied, The Arctic Monkeys, walked away with the NME Best Live Band award, beating out Muse, Kasabian, Radiohead, and Them Crooked Vultures.

Currently the band is taking it easy as they finish up the last few days of a year-long trek on the road. Keep checking back for more news about Arctic Monkeys tickets, concerts, and more!

Arctic Monkeys are heading on the road this August and traveling through October to support their upcoming effort Humbug.

The British alt-rockers are warming up for their Lollapalooza stop on August 8th with some shows earlier in the month, and on September 14th they will kick off a 17-stop headlining tour. Stops will include shows in a number of cities on the West Coast through September, as well as a stop in Canada and Philadelphia. They will spend the beginning of October in the South, including three stops in Texas - one at the Austin City Limits Festival.

Humbug is the group’s third album, and the follow up to Favourite Worst Nightmare, released in 2007. They started recording after an inspiring performance at the Latitude Festival in the UK last summer.

The band’s 2006 debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, put them on the top of the alternative charts, and they continue to receive great reviews and commercial success.
