Arctic Monkeys unveil late summer/early fall trek
Arctic Monkeys are heading on the road this August and traveling through October to support their upcoming effort Humbug.
The British alt-rockers are warming up for their Lollapalooza stop on August 8th with some shows earlier in the month, and on September 14th they will kick off a 17-stop headlining tour. Stops will include shows in a number of cities on the West Coast through September, as well as a stop in Canada and Philadelphia. They will spend the beginning of October in the South, including three stops in Texas - one at the Austin City Limits Festival.
Humbug is the group’s third album, and the follow up to Favourite Worst Nightmare, released in 2007. They started recording after an inspiring performance at the Latitude Festival in the UK last summer.
The band’s 2006 debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, put them on the top of the alternative charts, and they continue to receive great reviews and commercial success.
